Abstract
Globally the COVID-19 related in-migrants brought benefits and drawback to rural communities including Ontario. Although rural communities in Ontario recognized this, only few communities can study this trend and the applications to planning and community development because of weak financial foundation with limited amount of time. This research reinforces the understanding of the COVID-era migration with mixed method research approach and empower rural ‘voices’ to be heard. This research contributes to make rural communities more resilient and prosperous and design more solid policy, planning and development in rural areas.
