Abstract
Au cours de la colonisation espagnole et américaine, les Autochtones des Philippines ont été successivement repoussés dans les montagnes et dépossédés de leurs terres. À l’aube du xxi e siècle, ils ont obtenu des territoires ancestraux grâce à de la cartographie orchestrée par l’État. Ces nouveaux titres et leur législation ont créé une série de problèmes pour les Autochtones. D’une part, les groupes font face à des entreprises qui réclament le droit d’exploiter leurs ressources ; d’autre part, ils doivent reconfigurer leur propre système de tenure foncière, se voient obligés d’utiliser des titres de propriété privés et communautaires pour assurer leur présence sur l’espace, tout en utilisant un système foncier basé sur la relation avec leurs défunts pour transmettre et diviser la terre. Ils sont confrontés à deux visions foncières entièrement différentes qu’ils doivent combiner. Cet article interroge les enjeux fonciers des Autochtones aux Philippines, à la lumière du cas des Ibaloy de Loacan.
