Abstract
ประเทศไทยกำลังเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุ เช่นเดียวกับหลายประเทศทั่วโลก การพัฒนาทางด้านการแพทย์และเทคโนโลยีเป็นปัจจัยหลักที่ทำให้สัดส่วนประชากรผู้สูงอายุมีแนวโน้มที่จะเพิ่มสูงขึ้น และส่งผลให้สัดส่วนของผู้ขับขี่รถยนต์ที่เป็นผู้สูงอายุมีเพิ่มมากขึ้นตามไปด้วย ในผู้สูงอายุความสามารถในการขับขี่รถยนต์อาจลดลงได้ โดยเป็นผลมาจากการเสื่อมถอยลงของพุทธิปัญญา ก่อให้เกิดความเสี่ยงที่จะเกิดอุบัติเหตุเพิ่มสูงขึ้น ในงานวิจัยนี้จะศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพุทธิปัญญาและความสามารถในการขับขี่ของผู้สูงอายุ โดยจะทำการทดสอบผู้ขับขี่รถยนต์ทั้งวัยผู้ใหญ่ ผู้สูงอายุ และผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองบกพร่องเล็กน้อย การทดสอบพุทธิปัญญาจะใช้แบบทดสอบ The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) ในการจำแนกผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะสมองบกพร่องเล็กน้อย และแบบทดสอบ Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB) ในการประเมินพุทธิปัญญาอย่างละเอียด และทดสอบความสามารถในการขับขี่รถยนต์โดยใช้เครื่องจำลองการขับขี่ในสถานการณ์จำลองที่ถูกออกแบบและพัฒนาขึ้นผ่านซอฟต์แวร์ CarnetSoft การทดสอบความสามารถในการขับขี่รถยนต์จะทดสอบการขับขี่รถยนต์ตามหลังรถยนต์คันที่อยู่ด้านหน้า การควบคุมรถให้อยู่ภายในช่องทางเดินรถ การเข้าทางร่วมทางหลัก การเปลี่ยนช่องทางเดินรถ และการหยุดรถกระทันหันเมื่อมีรถยนต์ตัดหน้า หลังจากนั้นจะนำผลที่ได้มาหาค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สัน (Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient) ผลที่ได้จากการทดสอบพบว่าทักษะต่าง ๆ ในการขับขี่รถยนต์มีความสัมพันธ์มากที่สุดกับพุทธิปัญญาในด้านความสามารถด้านการรับรู้ก่อมิติสัมพันธ์ ความสามารถด้านการบริหารจัดการ และการใส่ใจเชิงซ้อน ตามลำดับ ผลการทดสอบยังสามารถบอกได้อีกว่าในผู้สูงอายุ ผลจากการทดสอบ CANTAB มีความสัมพันธ์กับทุกทักษะในการขับขี่รถยนต์ โดยอายุมีความสัมพันธ์เพียงการขับขี่รถยนต์ตามหลังรถยนต์คันที่อยู่ด้านหน้า และการควบคุมรถยนต์ให้อยู่ในช่องทางเดินรถที่ความเร็วต่ำ ในขณะที่คะแนน MoCA พบความสัมพันธ์เพียงแค่การขับขี่รถยนต์ตามหลังรถยนต์คันที่อยู่ด้านหน้าเท่านั้น จากที่กล่าวมาจึงสรุปได้ว่าอายุเพียงอย่างเดียวไม่สามารถบอกถึงความสามารถในการขับขี่รถยนต์ได้ จำเป็นต้องใช้แบบทดสอบพุทธิปัญญาเข้ามาช่วยในการวิเคราะห์ถึงความเหมาะสมที่ผู้สูงอายุจะสามารถขับขี่รถยนต์ได้อย่างปลอดภัย
