A Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator (CDR) is proposed for generating triple-mode Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) carrying beams. More specifically, the OAM modes of 0, -1, and +1 can be excited using the single antenna element (CDR) according to different feed positions. Thus, the structure has three input ports, each one assigned for the one OAM mode. In order to make a mode-tunable structure, a feeding network including a Single Port Triple Through (SP3T) switch is utilized to alter the signal direction toward the specific feeding positions. The simulated results verify the generation of vortex beams with clockwise and anti-clockwise helical phase fronts for modes -1 and +1, respectively. The fundamental mode (mode 0) having a directive radiation pattern is excited as well. This structure, to the best of authors' knowledge, is the first reported single antenna element providing triple OAM modes with reconfigurable (mode-switchable structure) and non-reconfigurable (having individual port for each mode) capability.
