El estilo de vida moderno ha incrementado la prevalencia de cefaleas tensionales (CT) en la población universitaria, afectando su calidad de vida. Las terapias manuales, como la digitopresión, tracción cervical, liberación miofascial y estiramientos, pueden mejorar la sintomatología de las CT. Esta investigación busca diseñar, implementar y evaluar la eficacia de dos protocolos de intervención fisioterapéutica basados en terapia física manual para el alivio de la intensidad y aparición de la cefalea tensional en población universitaria. Se diseñaron y evaluaron dos protocolos de intervención fisioterapéutica en 14 participantes. El grupo A recibió terapias manuales presenciales y un manual audiovisual, mientras que el grupo B solo recibió el manual. Los resultados mostraron una reducción en la intensidad de las cefaleas y mejoría en el rango de movimiento cervical. Esta alternativa de tratamiento puede ayudar a reducir el uso excesivo de medicamentos para el tratamiento de la CT en la población universitaria.
