Abstract
L’usage d’émoji, qui est du domaine du paralangage numérique, devient plus en plus un moyen de communication populaire parmi les étudiants universitaires au Nigéria. Les étudiants ont recours à l’émoji pour faciliter leur cohésion de groupe et le bien-être qui en découle. Nous avons trouvé qu’ils stabilisent les liens interpersonnels et écartent les ambiguïtés potentielles en matière d’écriture. La communication émotionnelle du ton ou de la pantomime est remplacée par l’émoji.
