Las Fuerzas Armadas Canadienses (FAC) han iniciado una fase de aumento de su presupuesto, para pasar del 1,76 por ciento del PIB al 2 por ciento para 2032. El aumento de las amenazas con competidores estratégicos ha dado lugar a una actualización de la política de defensa, con una estrategia titulada Nuestro Norte, fuerte y libre (NNFL), que incluye nuevas ambiciones en el Ártico y el Indopacífico.
