Abstract
Mark Baker holds a B.A. (Special) in History.His area ofspecialization is Eastern European history, with particular attention to the Ukraine.He is currently writing his M.A. thesis which deals with British historians' perspectives on Eastern European history and the impact these perspectives had on the West's understanding of Eastern Europe.He holds a Province of Alberta Graduate Scholarship.Serge Cipko is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at the University ofAlberta and the author ofseveral scholarly anicles, mainly in the field of Ukrainian history.He has taught at MacQuarie University (Ukrainian history and civilization) and the University ofAlberta (history ofUkrainians in Canada) and will be lecturing as ofSeptember 1992 at Concordia College in Edmonton in world history and European history.The topic of his thesis is the history of Ukrainian immigration into Argentina between 1919 and 1939.
