Cette contribution s’attache à comprendre les tensions qui se manifestent dans un dispositif de médiation, entre dimension expérientielle immersive d’un côté et enjeux de sensibilisation et de diffusion de savoirs de l’autre. Ce dispositif a été développé dans le cadre du programme de recherche « Spatialisation audio en réalité virtuelle et augmentée » mené à Montréal par la Société des Arts Technologiques (SAT). Dans le cadre d’un partenariat avec l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, le laboratoire de recherche et développement de la SAT a créé deux environnements immersifs d’une expérience de concert symphonique spatialisée, soit qui reproduit l’acoustique d’un concert en salle. Cette étude s’appuie sur des données recueillies dans le cadre d’entretiens et d’observations menés au cours des phases d’idéation et de conception de ces environnements, et d’entretiens individuels et collectifs menés auprès des publics ayant participé aux tests des environnements immersifs développés.
