Abstract
A amiloidose é uma doença rara causada pelo depósito extracelular de proteínas fibrilares insolúveis em órgãos ou tecidos, classificando-se em localizada ou sistêmica. A amiloidose derivada das imunoglobulinas de cadeia leve (AL) é subtipo mais comum de amiloidose sistêmica e pode ocorrer isoladamente ou associada ao mieloma múltiplo (MM). Seu diagnóstico é realizado com base nos critérios clínicos e confirmado histologicamente através da detecção de depósitos amiloides em biópsia de tecidos. No entanto, a realização da biópsia em órgãos afetados nem sempre é viável, uma vez que o procedimento pode ser altamente invasivo. Recomenda-se, então, biópsia em locais alternativos não invasivos e com sensibilidade diagnóstica razoável, como em glândulas salivares menores da mucosa labial e dorso de língua. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho é descrever um caso de amiloidose sistêmica, em paciente com mieloma múltiplo, diagnosticado com contribuição do cirurgião-dentista através de biópsia em cavidade oral.
