Abstract
This case report describes a 40-year-old woman with a history of obsessive-compulsive personality traits, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and recurrent psychotic episodes triggered by psychosocial stressors. A traumatic car accident in Canada led to PTSD and the abandonment of her career. She returned to Romania and later joined a monastery in France, where she experienced two brief psychotic episodes that resolved with environmental changes and treatment. Her first psychiatric admission in France was followed by a similar episode in Romania three years later, marked by acute psychotic symptoms with rapid remission upon hospitalization. The episodic nature, environmental triggers, and quick recovery suggest dissociative psychosis. This case highlights the interplay of personality traits, family stress, and PTSD in psychosis management, emphasizing a personalized, multidisciplinary approach.
