Abstract
Publié en 1609, Patrona de Madrid restituida est la première œuvre de Salas Barbadillo, un auteur madrilène qui a inauguré sa carrière littéraire avec un vaste poème de tradition savante, dont le matériau narratif est la dévotion à la Vierge d’Atocha. Le poème présente une curieuse particularité. Dans ses 733 octavas reales sont dispersés et en désordre quelque 258 vers qui constituent le Traité poétique de la Sphère : une description traditionnelle de l’univers dans laquelle l’écrivain mêle les connaissances scientifiques de l’époque et le vaste répertoire connu sous le nom de « poésie cosmique ». Cet article propose la reconstruction du texte, dont il n’existe pas d’édition, avec un commentaire qui identifie les auteurs et les œuvres (influences classiques, Sacrobosco, Torquato Tasso) qui ont pu inspirer sa production.
