Abstract
Cet article traite de la réception du renouveau religieux latino-américain et de la théologie de la libération par les missionnaires catholiques québécois qui ont oeuvré en Amérique latine des années 1950 à 1990. Les interrogations et les pistes de solutions offertes par les approches innovantes latino-américaines, comme la promotion des communautés ecclésiales de base ou la défense de la justice sociale et des droits de la personne d’une population opprimée, sont devenues indispensables pour donner sens à l’engagement des religieux et religieuses qui ont été actifs en Amérique latine.
