Abstract
Sr. Editor: El uso de balones liberadores de fármacos (BLF) es una nueva estrategia terapéutica cada vez más empleada en el tratamiento de pacientes con reestenosis intrastent (RIS)1. Un artículo publicado recientemente en REC: Interventional Cardiology ofrecía datos sobre el perfil de seguridad y eficacia en el mundo real del BLF Essential Pro (iVascular, Spain) en pacientes con RIS2. En principio, una limitación de dicho análisis es que la incidencia global de eventos de resultado podría haberse visto influida por los pacientes tratados más recientemente con un seguimiento a corto plazo. Estos pacientes podrían no haber sido objeto de un seguimiento lo bastante largo como para determinar si tuvieron eventos adversos, infravalorando, de forma sistemática la incidencia de dichos eventos. Así pues, se presenta, a continuación, el seguimiento actualizado de esa cohorte acompañado de los resultados de los pacientes, como mínimo, 1 año después del uso del citado BLF, tanto al año de seguimiento como tras el seguimiento total (tabla 1).
