En effet, il a d’abord connu un premier pic de popularité durant la période « écoles ouvertes » (Open School), autour des années 1960 (Cohen, 1973) pour refaire surface au début des années 1980, sous l’impulsion du mouvement en faveur de l’inclusion scolaire (Brandenberger et Womack, 1982 ; Garvar et Papanla, 1982).
