Abstract
L’article présente des résultats d’une étude qualitative basée sur des entrevues semi-dirigées avec des polyglottes multiculturels de différents pays. Les participants utilisent régulièrement au moins quatre langues vivantes et ont des liens étroits avec plusieurs pays (famille, amis, travail, études, etc.). L’étude aborde des questions liées aux négociations identitaires, aux distorsions dans la perception de l’identité des polyglottes par l’entourage, au degré d’importance accordée à la reconnaissance de l’identité telle que définie par des polyglottes eux-mêmes, aux éléments retenus pour s’autodéfinir ou définir l’Autre, aux rapports avec les langues utilisées et au rôle que jouent ces langues dans la construction et dans la définition de l’identité.
