Abstract
Cet article porte sur le projet « Ma biblio pour tous », une initiative du réseau des bibliothèques de Repentigny visant à faciliter l’accueil et l’intégration des populations immigrantes. Alors que la plupart des études publiées sur le sujet se concentrent sur des initiatives réalisées dans de grands centres urbains, ce texte met en lumière des stratégies d’accueil développées dans une ville considérée comme un centre de population de taille moyenne. À travers une analyse approfondie des méthodes utilisées et des défis rencontrés, cette étude contribuera à une meilleure compréhension des enjeux liés à l’intégration des nouveaux arrivants dans les bibliothèques publiques. Elle permettra également d’évaluer dans quelle mesure ce type de projet peut faire de la bibliothèque un espace d’apprentissage et d’échange privilégié pour les communautés immigrantes. Les stratégies présentées pourront inspirer d’autres bibliothèques souhaitant développer des initiatives similaires et ainsi contribuer à l’inclusion et à l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants au Québec.
