Abstract
Faisant preuve d’une capacité d’articulation politique qui s’est consolidée au fur et à mesure de leur expansion, notamment depuis les années 1980, les évangéliques se sont retrouvés en position de force au sein du gouvernement de Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022). Pourtant, leur conversion au bolsonarisme semble loin d’être acquise. La présente étude cherche ainsi à mettre en lumière les liens entre évangéliques et bolsonaristes, en explorant la manière dont l’imaginaire du combat spirituel, consubstantiel à l’entrée en force des premiers sur la scène politique brésilienne, s’amalgame à la rhétorique de la guerre culturelle qui caractérise le bolsonarisme. Nous analysons en particulier la construction et la mise en oeuvre de cet imaginaire sous le prisme de la théologie du dominion, l’une de ses formes les plus abouties, fondée sur le « mandat des Sept Montagnes ». L’objectif est de comprendre dans quelle mesure le gouvernement de Bolsonaro reflète cette vision et favorise les efforts de transformation qu’elle entend promouvoir dans la société brésilienne.
