Abstract
Réalisé entièrement à l’aide d’un téléphone portable, Low Cost (Claude Jutra) de Lionel Baier se veut à la fois un film autobiographique intimiste et un hommage subtil au cinéaste Claude Jutra. Ce film réflexif est surtout remarquable en ce qu’il ne tente pas de s’inspirer du mode narratif autofictionnel du cinéaste québécois, mais en ce qu’il actualise à l’aide de l’appareil numérique mobile – ou le « téléphone intelligent » – une subjectivation des procédés ou une technique identitaire qui, chez Jutra, avait pour conséquence le dévoilement de l’être. Cet article cherche ainsi moins à comprendre ce qui, dans le cinéma de Jutra, a pu inspirer Lionel Baier, qu’à saisir ce qui, dans la figure du cinéaste Jutra, se prolonge jusque dans ce nouvel « usage » cinématographique de l’appareil numérique mobile qu’est le pocket film .
