Abstract
Psyché au cinéma est un recueil en prose poétique publié en 1916. Influencé par Rimbaud, Baudelaire et Nelligan, l’auteur Marcel Dugas est aussi un polémiste féroce, l’un de ceux qui fondent le Nigog en 1918, exacerbant du même coup la fameuse querelle du régionalisme. Le recueil comprend onze proses titrées, regroupées en neuf parties appelées « Douches ». Nous vous référons à notre article pour une analyse de cet ouvrage. Sont reproduites ici les troisièmes et onzièmes Douches. Les premières, dites « rapides », servent le poème « C’était un p’tit garçon… » où nous reconnaissons, avec l’influence rimbaldienne, l’importance accordée à l’image au détriment du trope et où le montage identitaire propre à l’ensemble du recueil nous apparaît explicite. Les dernières, dites « gémissantes », incluent deux proses, « Petites plaintes sur le passé revenu » et « Adieu Psyché », qui décousent chacune la métaphore centrale du texte. Si l’auteur plaide pour « un cinéma mystérieux et terrifiant », le cinéma (courant ?) y est vu également comme la condamnation d’un idéal et les salles comme des « lieux infâmes où se précipite la cohue des profanes ».
