Abstract
This study examines the models of strategic cooperation between India and Vietnam to draw lessons in restructuring the supply chains of Global South countries in the context of rising trade protectionism under the Trump 2.0 administration. The paper argues that the India-Vietnam partnership offers four possible models for resilience and supply chain diversification in the developing countries of the Global South as President Donald Trump implements protectionist and punitive trade policies against Canada, Mexico and China. In the coming period, this event has and will have a serious impact on global trade flows, potentially leading to a US-China trade war 2.0. The study points out emerging opportunities for both Vietnam and India to leverage existing trade models to enhance cooperation, complement each other's economic efficiency, and at the same time provide lessons for developing countries of the Global South to refer to in establishing and diversifying alternative supply chain corridors, reducing the negative impacts of the Trump 2.0 trade protectionist policies.
