Abstract
This short reflection outlines the critical difference between an approach to suffering based in care and one based in treatment, as the latter is described (explicitly but not exclusively) by the clinical experience of psychoanalysis. It suggests that black radicalism can and should benefit from a more direct and sustained engagement with the insights of psychoanalysis as a central aspect of its ethical orientation and political bearing.
