Yaşlılarda Düşme Riski, Düşme Davranışları Ve Kırılganlık Düzeyinin Değerlendirilmesi: Bir Huzurevi Örneği

Abstract

Amaç: Tüm dünyada artan yaşlı birey sayısı, yaşlılığa bağlı meydana gelen kronik hastalık sayısını düşme ve kırılganlık prevelansını arttırmaktadır. Bu araştırma bir huzurevinde yaşayan yaşlıların düşme riski, kırılganlık düzeyi, düşme davranışları ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte planlanan araştırma Haziran 2022-Temmuz 2022 tarihleri arasında bir huzurevinde bulunan 70 yaşlı ile yapıldı. Veriler yüzyüze görüşme tekniği ile soru formu, DENN düşme riski, Yaşlılar için düşme davranışları ölçeği (YDDÖ) ve Edmonton kırılganlık ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Bulgular: Araştırmada düşme riski yüksek olan yaşlıların oranının %35.7 ve şiddetli kırılganlığı olan yaşlıların oranının ise %14.3 olduğu bulunmuştur. DENN düşme riski ile Edmonton kırılganlık ölçeği arasında pozitif yönde güçlü derecede anlamlı ilişki olduğu tespit edildi (r: 0,360; p:0,002). Sonuç: Kırılganlık yaşlılarda tüm faktörlerden bağımsız şekilde görülürken; düşmeyi etkileyen faktörlerin cinsiyet, yaş, sigara kullanma durumu, son bir yıldaki düşme sayısı, düşme sonucu tedavi alma durumu ve yardımcı araç kullanımı olduğu tespit edildi. Kırılganlık riski veya kırılganlığı bulunan yaşlılarda düşme riskini önlemeye yönelik hemşirelik girişimlerinin planlanarak gerektiği durumlarda uygulanması önerilmektedir.
