Abstract
Depuis 1960, les banlieues québécoises ont évolué, d’abord par le mouvement de suburbanisation progressif puis par les fusions des municipalités à la ville de Québec en 2002. En parallèle de cette modification morphologique, les imaginaires restent fréquemment associés à une banlieue « tranquille » et peu dense. Comment les habitants gèrent-ils la mutation des territoires ? En quoi un projet immobilier peut-il perturber leur quotidien ? Pour analyser les liens, notamment d’attachement aux territoires, nous nous appuyons sur une enquête qualitative menée à Québec auprès d’habitants d’une ancienne banlieue et sur le projet immobilier du Phare, au moment de débats houleux. Nous analysons moins les questions de participation citoyenne que les craintes, les effets, les projections des habitants, en montrant comment ce projet Phare, attribut de centralité, modifie non seulement les spatialités et les formes urbaines, mais aussi les pratiques et imaginaires autour de ces lieux périphériques.
