Indragiri Hulu Regency has the potential for mining mineral commodities, tin, clay, kaolin, bentonite, quartz sand, sirtu, marble, andesite, basalt and granite which can be utilized for community welfare. Based on geomorphology, it can be divided into several units, namely: medium to strong wavy anticline hills, weakly wavy anticline hills, and flood plains. The moderately undulating anticlinal hills occupy the Bantang Cenaku, Bantang Gangsal, parts of the district. Peranap and parts of Kec. Seberida. Weakly undulating anticlinal hills cover parts of the district. Raft Kulim, Peranap, Sungai Lala, and parts of the district. West Rengat. Floodplain areas around large rivers. The hilly area is formed by steep slopes and is crossed by rivers with steep river banks composed of volcanic rocks. Primary metal minerals were found in the form of manganese, gold and tin. Gold in the veins is spread (disseminated) in the rock. Other minerals found are tuff, feldspar, granite, basalt, andesite, dacite, marble, quartzite, mica schist, serpentinite, andesite breccia. Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu memiliki potensi komoditas mineral tambang, timah, lempung, kaolin, bentonit, pasir kuarsa, sirtu, marmer, andesit, basal dan granit yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat. Bedasarkan Geomorfologi dapat dibagi menjadi beberapa satuan yaitu: perbukitan antiklin bergelombang sedang - kuat, perbukitan antiklin bergelombang lemah, dan dataran banjir. Perbukitan antiklin bergelombang sedang – kuat menempati wilayah Bantang Cenaku, Bantang Gangsal, sebagian wilayah Kec. Peranap dan sebagian Kec. Seberida. Perbukitan antiklin bergelombang lemah meliputi sebagian wilayah Kec. Rakit Kulim, Peranap, Sungai Lala, dan sebagian wilayah Kec. Rengat Barat. Dataran banjir daerah sekitar aliran sungai besar. Wilayah perbukitan dibentuk oleh lereng-lereng yang terjal dan dilewati sungai dengan tebing sungai yang curam disusun oleh batuan gunung api. Ditemukan bahan galian logam primer berupa mangan, emas dan timah. Emas di dalam urat-urat tersebar (disseminated) di dalam batua. Mineral lainnya yang ditemukan yaitu tuf, feldspar, granit, basalt, andesit, dasit, marmer, kuarsit, sekis mika, serpentinit, breksi andesit. Keywords: Minerals, metals, non-metals, geology, mining
