Abstract
Depuis quelques années, la régionalisation de l’immigration connaît un nouvel élan au Québec. Il suffit de se promener aujourd’hui dans nombreuse villes du Québec pour s’apercevoir que la présence immigrante fait maintenant partie de la réalité quotidienne. Dans cet article, je propose de dépasser la logique économique du phénomène migratoire, celle des « postes vacants », pour s’intéresser à une dimension plus sociologique de la régionalisation de l’immigration, celle qui s’inscrit dans une lecture du territoire québécois. Je mets en avant une réflexion autour de l’importance qu’une nouvelle géographie de l’immigration peut signifier pour le développement et l’épanouissement de villes et régions situées en dehors des grands centres.
