Abstract
Les questions migratoires occupent désormais une place centrale dans les débats politiques au Québec, marquant une rupture avec leur statut historiquement marginal. Cette politisation s’inscrit dans une tendance globale et se manifeste par une saillance accrue des thèmes liés à l’immigration ainsi qu’une polarisation idéologique marquée. Depuis l’érosion du consensus interpartisan établi en 1991 avec l’Accord Canada-Québec, les partis politiques québécois adoptent des positions divergentes sur l’immigration, rompant avec le consensus pro-immigration des décennies précédentes. Cette nouvelle ère se caractérise par des seuils d’immigration réduits, un recours croissant à l’immigration temporaire et des réformes restrictives dans plusieurs domaines. En parallèle, les discours simplifiés et souvent polémiques amplifient les stéréotypes et creusent le fossé entre les politiques, les réalités de terrain, et les expériences des citoyen·nes. Cette politisation met en péril le sentiment d’appartenance des personnes immigrantes et menace la capacité du Québec à se projeter comme une terre d’accueil durable et inclusive, pouvant renforcer des divisions à long terme dans la société québécoise.
