This chapter explores the creation and implementation of the Computer Science Training Through Projects (CSTTP) program, a rural, community-focused approach to teaching computer science through real-world applications. Drawing from personal experience growing up in rural Saskatchewan, the author reflects on barriers to accessing technology education and the need for locally relevant, flexible learning models. CSTTP addresses regional gaps by blending project-based learning, mentorship, and hands-on collaboration with local organizations. Designed to simulate a software development company, the course helps students build technical skills, a project portfolio, and confidence through authentic client engagement. This chapter outlines the program's structure, one-room schoolhouse-inspired model, and the partnerships that support it. Early outcomes, student projects, and future plans show how CSTTP fosters economic development, supports diverse learners, and brings computer science education to places it has often been out of reach.
