PNEUMONIA NEONATAL POR CHLAMYDIA TRACHOMATIS: UMA REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA

Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO: A Chlamydia trachomatis é a bactéria sexualmente transmissível mais comum globalmente, com alta taxa de transmissão vertical durante a gravidez. A infecção pode causar complicações graves, incluindo pneumonia neonatal e parto prematuro. OBJETIVO: Revisar a prevalência e as implicações da infecção por Chlamydia trachomatis em grávidas, destacando dados sobre a pneumonia neonatal e outras complicações respiratórias. METODOLOGIA: Realizou-se uma pesquisa na base de dados PUBMED em abril de 2025, utilizando descritores “Pneumonia”, “Chlamydia trachomatis”, “Chlamydia pneumoniae” e “Chlamydia infections”, combinados com os operadores booleanos “AND” e “OR”. Após a definição e aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram incluídos 8 artigos neste estudo. RESULTADOS/DISCUSSÃO: A infecção neonatal por Chlamydia está associada a complicações como pneumonia e conjuntivite, com taxas de transmissão vertical elevadas. A pesquisa indicou que a triagem e o tratamento precoce com antibióticos reduzem as complicações, mas as evidências sobre a relação entre a infecção e a pneumonia neonatal ainda são limitadas. Alguns genótipos de Chlamydia estão associados a um risco maior de pneumonia, destacando a necessidade de diagnóstico molecular preciso. CONCLUSÃO: Apesar de avanços no rastreamento e tratamento, há uma lacuna significativa no entendimento das complicações respiratórias neonatais causadas pela Chlamydia trachomatis. Futuras investigações são necessárias para esclarecer os mecanismos da pneumonia neonatal e avaliar a eficácia de intervenções preventivas, como o rastreamento contínuo durante a gestação.
