Abstract
Cet article cherche à faire dialoguer le courant de la décroissance et l’économie politique du numérique pour problématiser la compatibilité entre la forme actuelle de la numérisation et l’injonction d’une transition écologique. À cet effet, la question de la croissance est cadrée à partir des mutations du capitalisme engendrées par la révolution cybernétique. La croissance y est tracée comme expression sur trois plans : en tant qu’idéologie, processus social et processus matériel. Il en ressort une relation dynamique et conjointe entre impératif de croissance et impératif de numérisation qui se traduit par une logique de gouvernementalité algorithmique et un extractivisme renouvelé. Cet article propose donc plusieurs points d’ancrage pour l’analyse critique de l’impératif de croissance dans le contexte de la numérisation contemporaine.
