Abstract
El presente artículo es el resultado de un análisis sobre la identidad social paceña a partir del estudio de casos de dos personas consideradas mestizas en referencia no solo a los mestizos, sino también a los aymaras, que viven en la ciudad de La Paz, lla-mados ambos paceños. La investigación de base proviene de la tesis de doctorado en Psicología Social, titulada originalmente “Dynamique identitaire des habitants de La Paz (Paceños), les Aymaras et les Metis”55. La identidad social, se la entiende según sean los ángulos desde que se la mire. La identidad como cultura y sociedad, (Barth,1976), (Moreno,1991), (Castells, 1999) y (Bourdieu, 2007). La identidad es el encuentro entre diferentes, en la que sus “límites persisten a pesar del tránsito de personas” (Barth,1976, p.10). Moreno, (2005), refiere que la identidad es sociocultural, parte de la “matriz social”, que está compuesta por la identidad étnica, identidad socio-profesional y la identidad de género. Las identidades son plurales, es decir que hay varias identidades en cada individuo, en el cual la identidad se vive como un proceso de construcción de sentido (Castells, 1999, p. 29).
