Abstract
The duality relationship has been investigated in power electronic research to derive new converter topologies and analyze their characteristics for decades. However, the duality of power transformers is still not well understood and is rarely discussed in the existing literature. To fill the gap, this article presents the derivation of the duality of the power transformer and its induced new transformer-less converters using the dual component – a capacitive isolation network. The experimental verification on a selected converter is presented.
