Plusieurs recherches montrent que les personnes LGBTQ+ sont surreprésentées parmi les victimes de violence entre partenaires intimes (VPI). Toutefois, la compréhension des facteurs de risque propres à ces communautés doit être approfondie. Cette étude examine, dans une perspective écologique et qualitative, ces facteurs de risque à partir des expériences de 64 personnes LGBTQ+ victimes de VPI. L’analyse révèle différents facteurs de risque individuels, dont les stigmatisations et les victimisations antérieures, ou proximaux, comme les relations au sein des réseaux LGBTQ+. L’hétérocisnormativité, sur le plan distal, apparaît comme un facteur clé, notamment dans la conception de la VPI. Ces facteurs influencent la capacité des personnes à reconnaître la violence, en plus de moduler leurs réactions face à cette violence. Cette étude contribue à la diversité des facteurs à considérer pour la prévention et le dépistage de la VPI chez les populations LGBTQ+.
