Abstract
Le 5 juin 1649, le graveur Jean-Baptiste Humbelot passe un contrat avec le polémiste François Véron. Il doit graver son portrait selon le modèle peint par Denis Duchesne, fourni par Véron, et en vend la matrice, sans tirages. L’estampe doit avoir la taille du volume in-folio des œuvres de Véron : le travail est payé 120 livres et doit être rendu cinq semaines plus tard.
