Abstract
Hepatitis B reactivation (HBV) can occur during cancer therapy. Reactivation can range from a mild transaminitis to serious acute liver failure. Guidelines for haematological malignancies recommend baseline hepatitis B screening in patients potentially commencing immunosuppressive therapy for past and active HBV infection. However the current ESMO breast cancer guidelines do not incorporate this. Entecavir is a guanosine nucleoside analogue and can be used in hepatitis B prophylaxis.
