Abstract
Au cours des dix années qui, de 1789 à 1799, voient les bouleversements amenés par les événements révolutionnaires, le théâtre devient la tribune et le lieu de l’expression directe du parterre. Neuf pièces de Destouches sont reprises durant cette période avec plus ou moins de succès, ce qui le place en quatrième place des auteurs les plus joués au Théâtre de la Nation et en troisième place au Théâtre de la République. L’auteure analyse les caractéristiques des œuvres reprises (Le Glorieux, La Fausse Agnès, L’obstacle imprévu, Le Dissipateur, Le Philosophe marié, L’Ambitieux et l’Indiscrète, Le Tambour nocturne, Le Triple mariage et L’Homme singulier) qui ont permis ce renouveau de faveur.
