Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract This chapter examines the lack of entitlement to inventions across Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, the United States, and Europe, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Australia requires an accurate declaration of entitlement, while Canada mandates that patents issue only to lawful inventors. China distinguishes between service and non-service inventions, granting rights primarily to entities, whereas India permits opposition and revocation where wrongful obtaining occurs, enabling transfer of rights to the true inventor. Japan allows invalidation but rarely recognises entitlement disputes unless courts intervene, and the United States corrects inventorship errors and recognises doctrines such as hire-to-invent and shop rights. Finally, the chapter explains that Europe and its member states offer various remedies, often requiring judicial action, with the United Kingdom providing structured entitlement proceedings linked to revocation and correction of patent ownership.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
