Les enseignants québécois sont de plus en plus considérés comme des professionnels. Leur formation universitaire de quatre ans les amène à un niveau de compétence comparable à tous les autres professionnels. Aussi, les enseignants ont acquis, au cours des vingt dernières années, de plus grandes libertés pédagogiques et une plus grande autonomie professionnelle. Par conséquent, ils devraient, comme tous les autres professionnels, se solidariser autour d’une éthique commune. Dans un premier temps, nous nous proposons de montrer que les enseignants peuvent dorénavant être reconnus comme des professionnels, et, dans un second temps, nous présentons quelques considérations préliminaires à la réalisation d’un code éthique pour les enseignants québécois.
