Abstract

Several common reproductive events have important maternal cardiometabolic health impacts beyond pregnancy. These cardiometabolic-associated reproductive events (CARE; ie, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy [HDP], gestational diabetes, preterm delivery, abruption, birthweight < 2500 g) identify women at increased risk of premature cardiometabolic morbidity (hypertension, dysglycemia, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, etc). This study’s objective was to describe the incidence in CARE over 2010-2020 in Alberta, Canada, as a foundational step in developing a provincial cardiometabolic health promotion pathway.
