Abstract
This research aims to analyze the development of modern minimarkets and traditional markets in Alang-Alang Lebar District. With the rapid growth of minimarkets, this research explores the impact on the sustainability of traditional markets which have long been the center of the local economy. The method used is a quantitative approach using interviews, observation and secondary data analysis. The research results show that modern minimarkets provide easy access and product variety, but also cause a decrease in the number of visitors and income of traditional markets. However, traditional markets still have their own charm, such as unique local products and social interaction. Recommendations from this research include the importance of synergy between minimarkets and traditional markets to create a balanced and mutually beneficial economic ecosystem.
