Abstract
Current pain management treatments for intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) are often short-lived, costly, and do not address the underlying causes of the condition. Patients typically rely on NSAIDs, corticosteroids, or opioids, which can have significant side effects, carry a risk of dependence, and become less effective over time. These treatments fail to prevent further progression of the disease, leaving patients trapped in a cycle of recurring pain and disability. Surgical alternatives, such as spinal fusion or artificial disc replacement, are invasive, costly, and require long recovery times.
