Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This study aims to evaluate public perceptions of the existence of the Wae Ela Dam in Negeri Lima, Leihitu District, Central Maluku. The background of this study is based on the importance of understanding the attitudes and views of local communities towards strategic infrastructure development, especially dams that have a direct impact on daily life. The focus of the study was directed at assessing the benefits of the dam, such as irrigation, clean water provision, and tourism potential, as well as public concerns about the risk of disasters and environmental damage. Data collection was carried out through a closed questionnaire distributed to 50 local respondents, then analyzed descriptively quantitatively to obtain a general picture of public perception. The results showed that the majority of respondents gave a positive assessment of the benefits of the dam, although there were still concerns regarding the potential risks it posed. This finding indicates a supportive but vigilant public attitude. The main conclusion of this study recommends the need to improve dam management, socialize risks, and involve the community in the decision-making process in order to create sustainability and a sense of shared security.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
