Abstract
L’« art » est un objet de recherche dont la place variable dans l’histoire de l’anthropologie peut constituer un révélateurs des transformations épistémologiques de la discipline, de ses tensions internes et de ses dynamiques de continuités ou de ruptures. Après une période de relative mise au second plan dans la première moitié du XXe siècle, son retour en grâce progressif à partir des années 1960 se fait caisse de résonance des « tournants » critiques de l’anthropologie contemporaine et de ses ouvertures thématiques. Ces recherches ouvrent aujourd’hui sur l’analyse anthropologique des circulations globalisées des artistes, des œuvres et des pratiques esthétiques, sur les rapports de pouvoir qu’elles produisent et reflètent, ainsi que sur les héritages, les appartenances sociales et les identifications personnelles et collectives soutenues par les pratiques artistiques.
