La recension des méthodes d’appréciation d’images depuis le 15e siècle, montre que toutes les théories éducatives, même les plus récentes, séparent les situations de création et d’appréciation. Pour donner une cohérence à l’éducation artistique, nous proposons de définir les situations de création et les situations d’appréciation, selon une même logique propre aux arts : la « réflexion artistique » produit un « jugement créatif et esthétique », propre aux artistes mais aussi aux critiques d’art actuel ou à d’autres professionnels du domaine des arts. Dans cet article, nous proposons de repenser six méthodes dialogiques identifiées dans les théories actuelles de l’éducation, pour les adapter à l’éducation artistique, en se limitant à l’aperception, la première étape d’une démarche d’appréciation.
