Abstract
Desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria, este trabajo pretende dar tres pinceladas que permitan aproximarse al fenómeno migratorio del exilio en Chile, producto de la guerra civil española. La primera, denominada «Winnipeg», se referirá, principalmente, a la hazaña realizada entre el Gobierno chileno del momento y el exilio republicano español, teniendo como protagonistas al poeta Pablo Neruda y al presidente Pedro Aguirre Cerda. La segunda, llamada «¿Va al paraíso?» e inspirada en la ciudad de Valparaíso, puerto donde llegó el Winnipeg. «¿Va al paraíso?» será, entonces, en el sentido de hacia dónde vamos… y si la llegada a esta ciudad-puerto es, definitivamente, el desembarco en un hipotético paraíso. ¿Una nueva vida en otro continente y en el paraíso? En tercer lugar, bautizada como «Riñihue/Valdivia», recurriremos a un poblado y a un lago del mismo nombre en el sur de Chile: Riñihue. Sector que queda cerca de la ciudad de Valdivia y que fue el polo donde sucedió uno de los cataclismos más violentos registrados en la historia de la humanidad. Leopoldo Castedo —quien llegó a Valparaíso exiliado en el Winnipeg— realizó el único documental conocido vinculado con este impactante movimiento telúrico: terremoto y maremoto.
