Abstract
This article proposes a theoretical and methodological contribution to the discussions and advancements in border studies. It focuses on the question of how practice-oriented border research can be further developed. Although the concept of practice is largely established in border research, it is notable that it has not yet been systematically developed as a research concept for studying borders. This article proposes the approach of a border praxeology by combining practice-oriented border research with practice theories, mainly presented within sociology and social sciences. The goal is the elaboration and development of the practice orientation in border studies with key ideas of praxeological research. This article outlines the research approach of a border praxeology, presenting its central concepts (border dynamics, situated bordering, b/ordering and border multiple) and methodological principles, such as the intertwining of theoretical and empirical work in the process of the analysis.
