Abstract
L’auteure enseigne les arts plastiques dans une école secondaire montréalaise, une pratique nourrie par les évolutions socioculturelles et ajustée aux besoins des élèves, en phase avec leur présent et orientée vers leur avenir. Fascinée par l’art contemporain et engagé, elle a progressivement ancré sa pédagogie dans l’appréciation esthétique, un levier pour connecter les adolescents à leur environnement dans un monde façonné par les crises sociales et l’omniprésence numérique. Face aux contraintes scolaires — horaires rigides, groupes nombreux, échanges délicats —, elle a adapté ses approches, favorisant la réflexion en allégeant la cadence des cours. La pandémie a intensifié ces obstacles tout en révélant le pouvoir transformateur de l’art. Depuis, elle met en avant l’appréciation artistique contemporaine, intégrant les technologies dans des projets pédagogiques novateurs. En puisant dans la musique, l’animation et l’interculturalité, et en s’inspirant d’artistes locaux et canadiens, elle engage les élèves dans une exploration de la diversité et des enjeux actuels, renforçant leur sentiment d’appartenance. Pour elle, l’appréciation artistique, à la fois acte de résistance et de lien, promeut une éducation inclusive et porteuse de sens, en résonance avec les aspirations d’une jeunesse confrontée à un monde complexe.
