Existe-t-il un modèle de gouvernance québécois ? D’après les auteurs de ce livre, oui, et le Québec s’en serait doté à partir de la Révolution tranquille. Ce modèle économique et social unique ne fonctionne pas selon la logique libérale propre à la norme canadienne, mais, au contraire, s’en émancipe toujours davantage.Peut-on toujours, plus de soixante ans après la Révolution tranquille, parler d’un tel « modèle québécois » ? Contrairement aux pires scénarios que certains avaient anticipés, ce modèle existe toujours. Il se caractérise par une plus grande intervention de l’État dans l’économie, par des programmes sociaux mieux financés, par une redistribution de la richesse plus importante et par une concertation sociale beaucoup plus large entre l’État, les syndicats, la communauté d’affaires, le secteur financier et la société civile qu’ailleurs au Canada.Rassemblant les textes de divers spécialistes, cet ouvrage fait un bilan nuancé des évolutions de ce modèle ; il en présente les principales caractéristiques actuelles, mais aussi les défis auxquels il doit faire face, à court et à moyen termes, et propose des voies pour l’avenir.
