Abstract
A personalized approach to treatment and established communication with patients of different age groups is the basis of the success of acne therapy. It is the established contact and fully provided information that support the patient in the event of side effects, contribute to the continuation of treatment and clearing the skin from rashes. The recommendations of the European Dermatology Forum, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and the Canadian acne treatment guidelines developed in 2016 include mandatory local therapy in the management protocols of patients of all age groups.Topical retinoids dominate among topical agents in these guidelines and are recommended as monotherapy for comedonal acne (A, B levels of evidence, recommendation class I). They can be prescribed for mild and moderate papulopustular stage of acne, alone or in combination with local or oral antibiotic therapy. The American Academy of Pediatrics has approved the AAD guidelines for topical retinoid monotherapy for all types of acne in children and adolescents.The article demonstrates our own experience in prescribing a new topical retinoid for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate acne — AltrenoTM moisturizing lotion, which contains 0.05 % of micronized tretinoin.The unique features of the formula of this medicine are presented, which are explained by modern production technology. The tretinoin molecule in AltrenoTM, reduced to the size of the opening of the sebaceous hair follicle, is dissolved in a hydrogel matrix containing sodium hyaluronate and collagen of marine origin.A number of clinical studies regarding the safety profile of AltrenoTM among patients of different age groups, including the pediatric population, are presented. The presence of moisturizers of the skin in the composition of the drug ensures noticeable comfort during application and a minimal irritating effect during the entire period of use of the medicinal product.The presented photos of the treatment results of our patients demonstrate the clinical effectiveness and satisfactory tolerability of AltrenoTM.An important advantage for the practice of every dermatologist is the ability to prescribe AltrenoTM to children for the treatment of acne from the age of 9.
