Resumo Ao considerar os desafios para implementação de medidas emergenciais relativas à gestão da força de trabalho na pandemia da covid-19, este estudo documental e qualitativo reuniu documentos oficiais produzidos pelos governos do Brasil, do Canadá e de Portugal para enfrentamento dessa doença relacionados à regulamentação da gestão do trabalho em saúde de 2020 a 2022 e descreveu as intervenções propostas. A pesquisa contemplou 31 normativas, cuja análise foi guiada pelo documento Health workforce policy and management in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic response e revelou mudanças na organização estrutural dos ambientes, alocação e realocação de profissionais, uso de tecnologias de informação e comunicação em saúde para adequar decisões organizacionais e orientar o trabalho. Como similaridades, destacam-se recomendações para se reorganizarem ambiente e condições de trabalho e minimizar a exposição a riscos de contaminação pelo Sars-CoV-2. Distinguiram-se no Canadá reforços na atenção primária à saúde e financiamento excepcional do trabalho remoto. Portugal optou por adequações nas relações trabalhistas, flexibilização da contratação de profissionais estrangeiros e voluntários aposentados. O Brasil recomendou recrutamento de residentes e estudantes da área da saúde. Os achados comuns sugerem evidências de caminhos para o fortalecimento de políticas de gestão do trabalho em saúde no cenário pós-pandemia.
